We have our first West Noble team champion of the fall tournament season!
The boys soccer program overcame an extraordinary amount of adversity in the second half, going from 1-0 up with 15 minutes to go to down 2-1 three minutes later after Westview converted a pair of penalty kicks. A Sebastian Carrillo penalty conversion with three minutes left in regulation tied the match, and in the first minute of overtime, Leo Lopez netted what would be the game winner in a 3-2 win at Westview. The win breaks a tie with Westview atop the Northeast Corner Conference standings, West Noble finishing its season 7-0 in the NECC.
Congrats, boys. Check off the first to-do on the postseason checklist.

Just think of a school environment without custodians...after ballgames, all the sick kids who don't make it to the bathroom in time, all the conferences and events that need set up and torn down.
And the MILLIONS of other jobs they willfully do on a daily basis for us.
Thank you custodians for all you do!

The IHSAA held sectional draws Sunday evening for three sports, and the Charger boys tennis, girls soccer and boys soccer teams all know their paths to adding trophies to the cases.
Girls soccer will meet the host East Noble Knights on the second night of matchups, the Lady Chargers chasing after its first soccer sectional crown. A win in the quarters will create a matchup against either Garrett or Fort Wayne Concordia in the semi-finals. No. 3 Fort Wayne Dwenger is the paper favorite to be waiting in the sectional championship round.
Boys soccer will host its sectional, and drew Northeast Corner Conference rival Lakeland in its first matchup. A win over the Lakers would create a top-20 showdown with either No. 9 Dwenger or No. 16 Bethany Christian. West Noble checks into the week ranked No. 20. On the top half is No. 14 Leo, creating one of the deepest sectionals in Class 2-A. The Chargers are trying to win their third sectional in five years, and their seventh overall.
Boys tennis is in the four-team DeKalb Sectional, where the Chargers take on East Noble, and Central Noble and DeKalb meet in the other semi-final. The Chargers haven't won a sectional in 10 years, the last in 2015, and are seeking their fourth overall.

Charger Check-In:
Kind of a light week of stuff going on as students and staff are now settled into some workable routines.
Among the lot this week includes some home and road volleyball peeks, a couple more sights from the Schlemmer, a very little Charger learning that sharing is caring, and the HS applied skills students learning science through slime.

A fantastic morning of cross country at West Noble with the 2025 Chuck Schlemmer Memorial Invite. The Battle of Highway 33 signs are headed back the Ligonier Friday night, the Chargers a convincing 41-14 winner at Fairfield. The win is the fifth in a row for West Noble in the backyard rivalry, and ninth in the past 10 regular season matchups.
Trey Shisler had a pair of passing touchdowns, Brogan Parks ran in a pair and Dustin Richardson had one of the wildest unintended double reverse touchdowns you'll see this year.
The Chargers move to 4-1 on the season and 2-0 in the NECC Big School Division with a game next Friday at Garrett. Revenge is on the mind...
