More celebrating as we wind down the school year!
West Noble Middle School students who passed their WIDA testing were rewarded with an ice cream sundae party, acknowledging a bigger goal. Each student had a goal set in one of the language domains of reading, writing, speaking, or listening. The goal is to improve by 0.5 or more in that specified domain, and we had 84 students meet their goal this year!
The ice cream party, cool, but bigger cheers for so many of our kids reaching and exceeding their goals in the testing circuit.

West Noble High School had a quintet of students honored in a unique way earlier this week.
Wednesday afternoon, five of our high school students were honored with a signing ceremony at Impact. The ceremony was held to recognize each student's aspirations to continue their education in a post-secondary institution or go directly into the workforce in their area of study.
Among the more than a dozen students in all that were honored, West Noble would like to congratulate five of our own:
Halle Barrientos, Jacob Carbaugh, Tabitha Soria, Nicholas Stoops and Carlos Velez, Jr.

We brought you the shenanigans from West Noble Primary's Field Day for the kindergarten a couple days ago. Pure chaos. Nothing changed for the first graders Friday afternoon as they took to the high school soccer fields for games, popsicles and organized chaos. Always great to see our kids having a blast and enjoying each other's company, and our staff being able to blow off a little steam, as well!

It's been a long and fruitful year, perhaps, for the West Noble Middle School Jr. Master Gardener Club. A total of 15 middle school green thumbs completed the club season and were recognized Thursday at the year-end awards program. Since last September, the students worked through eight chapters and 44 concepts of gardening and horticulture. One of the highlights of their year was getting the hydroponics grow tower to finally take and produce, and it produced in droves from herbs to leafy greens.
A huge thank you to Mrs. Anderson for seeing the kids through on a wonderful club that teaches life lessons in so many ways!

As we noted earlier in the day with the video, West Noble's FFA hosted Ag Day. Our Little Chargers from West Noble Primary were on hand for an up-close-and-personal experience with farm animals, equipment, and how farming fits into our daily lives.
From the looks on the kid's faces, we think they had a great time both teaching and learning today!

It was a great day to be outside in any capacity. Thanks to WNE's Dolores Williams for sending over these pics of the elementary kids enjoying recess today!

West Noble High School celebrated its standout students this afternoon with the West Noble Student Awards program.
Over two dozen students were recognized for their accomplishments in and out of the classroom in a variety of award categories.

Casey Kasem would approve of Tuesday night's 'Music Through The Decades' program at West Noble Elementary. From Bill Haley to the Beatles to Hilary Duff to Dua Lipa, the fourth graders performed through the generations in a kaleidoscope of song styles and movements. Music teacher Mrs. Hostetler directed the eight-song performance in front of a standing room only audience. The crowd also had the opportunity to take in the art gallery led by teacher Mrs, Bieberich, the hallways lined with works representing Georgia O'Keefe to clay baby dragons.

Before the rain drops began to fall, West Noble Primary held its kindergarten Field Day!
All sorts of shenanigans and games were on tap, and it wasn't just the kids getting into the moment!

In a season of fast times, West Noble Middle School continues to set standards for future runners to chase. Three more records were rewritten on the track. Keep up the great work!

Just a reminder that Physical Night is coming to West Noble High School this Wednesday. See the flier for details.

Tonight is West Noble's Prom! The kids likely are all headed to Kendallville if not there already. A host of couples made a stop at West Noble High School this afternoon to take part in the Grand March to open Prom activities.
Have a great night tonight, and be safe wherever you are!
We have a Google Drive open with pics from the Grand March for those who would like a photo of your favorite couple or person.

Wrapping up a busy week is a photo set from day two of the West Noble Elementary's Community Walk through downtown Ligonier. Another day of learning, another opportunity to get some ice cream from La Michoacana.

Prom is just around the corner, and West Noble has announced its court for the 2025 event.
Our Queen court are, in the photo from left, Stefany Dominguez, Mia Becker and Ava Green. The King court are Chris Silva, Gavin Baxter and Drew Burns.
West Noble's prom will take place Saturday, May 10, beginning with the Grand March at the HS at 4 p.m., followed by the formal event at 7 p.m. at the Mid America Windmill Museum in Kendallville.

Finally, second graders from West Noble Elementary took to the streets of Ligonier for their Community Walk. Making stops in and around locations in town, it was hands-on at its finest as the kids could see and learn directly from the businesses and people who run them. The WNE classes will also be out and about again tomorrow morning.

While not outdoors, Turning Point students were looking outside their comfort zones Thursday.
During Family Time, students who don't use cursive as a normal form of writing learned to incorporate the style into signatures, as well as writing letters to their future selves (to open one year from now). Those letters included goals, and others wrote out Mother's Day cards.

Next up visiting the outdoors were sixth graders from West Noble Middle School. The class made the annual trek to Quaker Haven south of Syracuse for a two-day experience on the sprawling campground. There were a variety of activities to keep the kids busy, both indoors and outdoors. Inside the main gymnasium was a bounce house, rock climbing and jewelry making, and outside were basketball, crafts and canoeing opportunities, just to name a few.

West Noble students have been outside and experiencing the world around them. We'll start off with West Noble Primary, which visited Bonneyville Mill near Middlebury. A hand's on opportunity to experience the site, learn about some of the site's history, and enjoy nature all the same.

Taking advantage of a picture perfect day, Bailey Showalter and a host of sixth graders from West Noble Middle School continued a tradition of service.
Honoring some of the West Noble community that has passed on, the current students cleaned up and beautified the West Noble Memorial Garden on the WNMS campus. Pulling weeds, trimming bushes, planting flowers, spreading mulch and general maintenance, the Garden looks as good as it ever has.
In its 19th year, the Memorial Garden commemorates West Noble community members that have passed away, but also individuals who have served major roles in the fabric of the community as well.
The Garden is a self-funding project and donations are accepted and appreciated. If you wish to contribute to the West Noble Memorial Garden please contact West Noble Middle School at (260) 894-3191.
Memorial Garden Commemorative brick orders may be placed at any time as this is an ongoing project. Brick orders will be held until 10 or more bricks are ordered.

Noble Early Learning is a new service for our West Noble families looking to grow our children!
NEL will host an open house on Wednesday, May 7, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. to meet teachers and learn more about the program. The early learning center is located inside West Noble Elementary School. Please enter at Door 12 on the east end of the building.
NEL is a nonprofit child care center which will become licensed and open to the public this spring. A partnership between Thrive by 5, the Community Foundation of Noble County, the City of Ligonier, and West Noble School Corp., this center will create 38 new child care seats. NEL will serve children from 6 weeks to 6 years old, and provide full-time early care and education during the hours that fit the schedule parents need most. Once licensed, the center will accept child care vouchers and Tri-Share funds.
