We appreciate our librarians at West Noble, and the work they do to keep our minds moving, our curiosity peaking, and our knowledge expanding.
Thank you, librarians!
Thank you, librarians!

They aren't in the classroom today, so to speak, but they are vital to how our classrooms function. And they are a Godsend to our teachers who have the opportunity to work with them.

Quick update from the Hoosier State Relays State Meet.
West Noble had representation in two events at Saturday’s finals in Indianapolis, Gimena Aguilar in the 60-meter dash and the 4x800 relay team.
Aguilar moved up 12 spots from her qualifying position to finish 11th at 8.12 seconds. Kudos to Fairfield’s Emma Walter, who won the state title with a 7.59.
The 4x800 relay team of Lanie Martin, Lynden Chordas, Karla Dominguez and Trinity Parson were competitive with its time of 10:18.65, landing 12th overall. Fort Wayne Concordia set the meet record with its championship time of 9:15.01, a full 11 seconds better than the standard that held for 13 years.
The Lady Chargers and the boys program both open its spring NECC season with a home meet Tuesday, April 7, with Garrett.

A quick shoutout this weekend to five members of our high school girls track program.
Our West Noble 4x800 relay team of Lanie Martin, Lynden Chordas, Karla Dominguez and Trinity Parson along with 60-meter sprinter Gimena Aguilar are qualified to compete in this weekend's Hoosier State Relay State Championships.
The relay team is currently seeded eighth (10:17.78) while Aguilar (8.23) is just .25 seconds away from a possible podium finish in an event where top to bottom are separated by less than a second.
The Hoosier State Relay State Meet is being held at the Fall Creek Pavilion in Indianapolis.
You can find more information on the HSR meet at https://hsr.iatccc.org/, which includes how you can watch the races. To skip the search, Aguilar is scheduled to compete at approximately 3:55 p.m. and the relay team at 5:20 p.m.
Good luck to our Lady Chargers!

Wednesday evening was the officially official end to the winter sports season on the West Noble campus. The middle school hosted its winter sports banquet, highlighting its Charger Strong award for each of boys and girls basketball, wrestling and cheerleading.
Find out who our award winners are, and enjoy some candids from the evening!

They put in the miles on their feet, so the bus put in some miles on the tires.
West Noble Elementary's Walking Club had it's 75-mile achievers on the bus this morning for Garrett and the JAM Center for a (mostly) swim party!
It's the annual reward for the Walking Club milestone, with the JAM Center hosting swimming, gym time, and more swimming, along with time for lunch. As you may deduce from the photos, guess where the bulk majority of the time was spent today...

A new positive initiative West Noble is putting into practice is something superintendent Dr. Lowe is endorsing as "Spotlight on Success". This recognizes entities of our school corporation who are going above and beyond to make West Noble a great place to learn and grow. This actually began in January in highlighting Hank Willems and the Work Based Learning program, and in February with our Student Resource Officers Chris Shearer and Grant Moser.
This past Monday at the school board meeting, the Technology Department for West Noble School Corporation was the Spotlight, showcasing not only the roles of the five whom work within, but some of the programs and perks that help our students and staff function at a high level, in and out of the classroom. Congrats to director Mike Burke and his staff on being March's Spotlight on Success!

Great news from West Noble High School!
A pair of individuals - Jay Wu and Allison Stabler - have qualified for the Business Professionals of America's national contest and another, Jacky Silva, will serve as a delegate judge. The BPA National Leadership Conference is set for May 6-10 in Nashville, and our qualifiers advanced from a pool of competitors from the state level earlier this month.

Finding it fitting this morning to post about our West Noble MIddle School Chili Cook-off winner. Given it went from 70 degrees yesterday to a balmy 34 this morning, chili sounds pretty good. And the Buffalo White Chicken Chili that Mrs. Long provided for the contest was elite, and was the unanimous choice as the winner.
Long takes over for two-time defending champion Mrs. Eash as the school's chili champion, and was happy to hoist the hardware for a photo opp this morning.

Sometimes it just takes a first impression.
That was the case for Bella Barnes, who put on a show good enough on senior night to impress Huntington University into a spot in its cheerleading program.
Barnes is just the third cheerleader in the past eight years to sign a college letter of intent. Hear from Bella, her coach and the Huntington coach who just had to get a live look herself at the link below:

West Noble's performing arts were the benefactor of a set of financial donations today.
Staff member Amy Church provided private donations to each of the music, choir and Theatre33 programs at West Noble. Church, a veteran of marching band herself, was happy to present the checks to each of the program directors - Sarah Sponseller for choir, Chris and Moorea Douglas for band, and Nic Weimer for Theatre33.
Thank you to Amy for her generosity!

West Noble students hit the road to Allen County this week.
Sra. Bartlett's high school Spanish classes had the chance to see an authentic Flamenco dance performance at the Presbyterian Theater in downtown Fort Wayne. Meanwhile, the fourth graders visited the Embassy Theater in just down the road in Fort Wayne to take in the Taiko Project, a Japanese-American drum ensemble, which allowed some of West Noble's students and staff to actually partake in the action onstage.
West Noble will have a couple additional stops in Fort Wayne in the coming week, stay tuned!

Attention West Noble Middle School students!
If you haven't already heard, the Charger Fishing Club is back in session this spring, open to any WNMS student (grades 5-8). It's free to join, and odds are good you'll reel in a fish!
All fishing will take place at the pond on the middle school campus and will be supervised at all times.
If interested, pick up a form at the WNMS main office or find Mr. Schermerhorn. Those who fished in the fall and wish to fish again this spring are already good to go!
If parents have questions, you can contact Mr. Tim Schermerhorn at schermerhornt@westnoble.k12.in.us

West Noble Elementary's second grade classes took a packed house Tuesday night to the Wacky, Wacky West for its spring concert and art show.
The hallways were filled with artwork representing pieces influenced by famous creators Jackson Pollock, Paul Klee and Claude Monet, which led into the gymnasium, where students were dressed in western wear. An eight-song set began with "Whacky Whacky West" and concluded with a fair wave for "Happy Trails".
Kudos once again to WNE art instructor Tammy Bieberich and music instructor Hayley Hostetler for their dedication and guidance to yet another spectacular production! Great work, everyone!
