WN Primary Parents and WN Staff: Due to an accident near Ligonier, power was lost at the Primary building around 1:30 PM. This was about 30 minutes before students lined up for dismissal and buses were already in route to the school. There was enough natural light and water pressure to finish out the school day and send students home at the normal time. However, since we do not know when power will be restored, we are cancelling the first grade graduation program that was scheduled for this evening. I assume we will reschedule that at a later date.
Because of the power outage in Ligonier this afternoon, the West Noble Primary first grade program has been postponed. We will have a new date for the program ASAP.

West Noble High School is proud to announce we have five students that have tested out of WIDA this year.
Gaston Bachelard once said: "A special kind of beauty exists which is born in language, of language, and for language." We are celebrating this "special kind of beauty" by recognizing five students who passed their WIDA exam. Britney Coba-Reyes, Erik Delgado, Jessica Miranda-Barrientos, Allison Recendiz-Esparza and Alex Resendez all met their requirements.
The WIDA Exam is a yearly language test given to determine academic proficiency in the English language. The test is extremely difficult, and we are so proud of the hard work of all of our students!

Our April Spotlight On Success at West Noble focuses on West Noble Elementary and its progress made in IRead test scores.
Principal Mark Yoder, along with assistant principal Jennifer Duncan and Brenda Yoder, presented to the WNSC school board the 2026 IRead statistics for WNE and how they correlate to the 2025 results. Among those connections were three videos made by students who made significant improvements from second to third grade, and how some staff members have found positivity in the testing process.

A huge shoutout this morning to our school bus driver's as part of National School Bus Driver Appreciation Day! In so many cases, they are the first West Noble employees your kids see in the morning, and the last before they get home. Thank you for all you do in keeping our kids safe, in all your travels!
West Noble's high school band and orchestra gathered Monday evening to perform a musical set as part of their spring showcase.
The band and orchestra each played two songs, then came together to finish up with a three-song send-off.
Kudos to music director, Chris Douglas, and the entire ensemble for a very entertaining concert and a job well done!

A couple of items from the West Noble High School music department.
First, a reminder that the WNHS spring music concert is this evening (Monday, April 27), beginning at 7 p.m. in the WNHS cafe. Both the band and the orchestra will perform a total of seven songs, and the show is free to the public.
Second, another reminder...a parent meeting and sign-up deadline will take place this Thursday, April 30, at 6 p.m. at the high school. This will detail agendas and visions for the 2026-27 WNHS band season, starting with summer camp and into the fall. Some exciting news this morning from the high school!
West Noble is celebrating its latest class to earn the Indiana Multilingual Certificate of Proficiency in English and Spanish. These 16 students met the state's criteria which requires earning eight English language arts credits, six credits in the world language, and passing state-approved proficiency assessments.
Each student will be recognized this year at the graduation commencement for this honor.

Our administrative assistants are the lifeblood of our operations at West Noble. Without them, well, let's not think about not having them. They do it all, know it all, and know everyone. Thank you for all you do, we truly appreciate you!
It's been a super fun year for West Noble Primary's Kinderwoods crew, and they shared some of their joy with a very nice-sized crowd Tuesday at the base camp at the Owen House.
The kindergarten classes, taught by Amanda Custer and Isaac Weimer, put together a five-song concert which included the all-time favorites 'I'm Being Eaten By A Boa Constrictor' and 'Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah'.
As per usual this spring, rain shortened the evening as the heavy clouds snuffed out some of the s'mores after party, but this crew of kindergarteners and teachers have been in the elements all school year. No big deal! Bravo to the huge audience for supporting these kids and this unique program for West Noble, and bravo to the kids for their show performance and grit this school year!

Today is Friday, April 17, and West Noble Schools are on a Two-Hour Delay for fog.

Despite some crumby weather at times this morning, half of our West Noble Middle School seventh graders took to the Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center to enhance their knowledge of the geography around them.
The students worked through four stations in two waves: one group for a hike to the gravel pit to focus on glaciers and their impact in carving out much of northern Indiana; and a longer hike to the bog and the 'bog jump'. The second wave worked near the Merry Lea dome at the to learn the impact of the glaciers and rock cycles, as well as at the model station to get a hand's on for changing landscapes how humans utilize rocks.
Thank you to the fine folks at Merry Lea, and for another round of hosting this Friday! Hoping for better weather for the next group!

Welcome back to the grind! Hope your spring break was relaxing, whether you were out of town or just home holding it down in the 260.
To start off the week, the US Army brought its virtual tour equipment to West Noble High School for a little on-site, hands-on recruiting. The tour showed off some of the different divisions of the Army, including paratrooping, aviation, ground combat and intelligence.
