West Noble Schools will be on a Two-Hour Delay on Tuesday, January 27th.

Some good news from down state.
Five of our West Noble football players were recognized for their work in the classroom by the Indiana Football Coaches Association.
The quintet of McKale Bottles, Gavin Keene, Trevor Steele, Cade Wolheter and Xavier Yates were all named Academic All-State by IFCA.
Each of the athletes had to carry a 3.7 GPA or better through the football season, and be nominated by an IFCA member coach.
Congrats to all of our award winners!

West Noble will take on the Eagles of Columbia City in the six-team 3-A sectional tournament at Tippecanoe Valley. The game is the first of two on Tuesday, Feb. 3, a 6 p.m. start. Wawasee and Fairfield will play in game two, with the host Vikings waiting on the West Noble-City winner and NorthWood awaiting the Wawasee-Fairfield winner. Both of the semi-finals will be held Friday, with the championship Saturday night, all at Valley.
Good luck Lady Chargers, let's go shock the state!

Charger Check-in:
Between weather chaos and continued testing in our buildings, it was pretty quiet on the Western front. But, we did have some news to report.
First, check out the photo of Mrs. Cox with some of the Primary peeps, building a skyscraper during indoor recess early in the week!
Then, we had some history Friday night as West Noble boys basketball coach, Ethan Marsh, achieved a milestone, reaching 100 career coaching wins. The win for Marsh was a highlight from the 70-30 win against Fremont, and won on his home court. Congrats, coach!
We also had a pair of wrestlers earn runner-up at the NECC Wrestling Tournament this past weekend. Both Gavin Christman at 138 pounds and Brogan Parks at 190 pounds were 2-0 entering their respective championship matches, and similarly, both were ousted by Eastside opponents. Christmas lost, 9-5, to Noah Dove and Parks fell, 3-1, to Job Richman.
West Noble also had Leon Bontrager, Joe Button and Hayden Clouse podium in fifth place and Korbin Rassner was sixth for the Chargers.

West Noble Schools will be closed Monday, January 26th for a good old-fashioned SNOW DAY! No virtual learning. Get outside and enjoy the snow and stay off the roads until they are cleared. We will have school in person on Monday, February 9th, as a makeup day. Thank you.

We wanted to let you know that there is more than one way to receive notifications about school delays and cancellations. With more bad weather on the way, stay up-to-date on potential school delays and closings. Download the app to your phone, it's free for anyone who wants to stay connected to all things West Noble.

A busload of kids from West Noble Primary happily zipped up their coats and headed to La Michoacana in Ligonier to celebrate their fundraiser prize.
"Do you want bubble gum or Oreo?" and "You also want sprinkles?" were the only questions asked and answered today, as the two dozen or so kids plowed through their ice cream in recognition of their work with the school fundraiser this past fall.
As always, thank you to the fine folks at La Michoacana for their continued partnership with our schools, and opening their doors on a frigid but sunny Tuesday afternoon!
The three-day camp is for preschoolers through sixth grade, the 4:30-6:30 p.m. camps culminating with a Saturday night performance on Feb. 21 during halftime of the boys basketball varsity game.
Cost is $35 and the camp directors ask registration be completed by Feb. 6 to assist with shirt orders.
Please see the fliers for more details!

Martinez went 1-1 in her first two contests of the day, serving as the first-ever West Noble female wrestler to make the state finals. The senior won her first match, then lost her second match, sending her to the consoles of the 170-pound placement ladder.
In her third contest against Munster's Allyson Compton, things were moving along at a slow pace, neither competitor really gaining much of an advantage. Compton held just a 2-0 lead off a reversal from the restart, but an awkward fall had Martinez bounce her head on the mat. Play was halted and Martinez was checked out by medical personnel and deemed unable to continue, forfeiting the match. Time didn't catch up to the West Noble senior as the seventh-place match against Wawasee's Kenadi Pierce loomed, and Martinez had to take a medical default.
So a 1-3 day is what the history books will show, but the one win in the first round allowed Martinez to become a state placer, taking eighth overall in her weight class and earning a 20th win on the season.
Martinez will always be the historical 'first' footnote, the first Lady Charger to take part in a Parade of Champions, the first to wear an IHSAA State Finals shirt with her likeness on the back, and the first to earn a medal.
From the West Noble community, congratulations Destiny, what a career! Be proud of your accomplishments!
In the quarterfinals of the 170-pound bracket at the IHSAA Girls Wrestling State Finals, Martinez ran into Annabelle Redman of Columbus East, and ran into a takedown just a minute into the first round. That was the only move Redman needed as she worked Martinez into a sticky position and into a pin at 1:21 to advance to the semis, sending Martinez to the placement brackets.
Martinez can finish no higher than fifth, but no lower than eighth. Her next matchup will be against Allyson Compton of Munster, and then face either Eleanor Robertson of Franklin Central or Kenadi Pierce of Wawasee.
Stay tuned!
We are going to have a state placer at the IHSAA Girls Wrestling State Finals!!!
Destiny Martinez won her opening round match against Beech Grove's Josilin Stinson in commanding fashion to advance to the final eight, which guarantees a placement on the podium in the 170-pound bracket.
Martinez opened the first period with a takedown and added another takedown in the second period to own a commanding 6-0 lead heading into the third period. Choosing bottom to start the period, Martinez worked out of Stinson's hold into a reversal, and eventually into a pin at the 28-second mark (4:28) to advance.
Martinez now draws Columbus East's Annabelle Redman, who won her match in similar fashion with a pin early in the third.
THREE MORE TO GO, DESTINY! GET IT!

Please join us in congratulating longtime Eastside coach and athletic director, Aaron Willard, who was presented with the Northeast Corner Conference's Lifetime Achievement Award this evening.
Willard spent over three decades serving Eastside in several coaching capacities as well as running its athletic department. Willard recently was honored with the naming of the Aaron Willard Student Activities Center on the campus of Eastside High School. The Eastside graduate was a state champion softball coach and also guided its baseball program to a state finals appearance.
Willard was presented with a commemorative trophy by West Noble athletic director, Tom Schermerhorn, and was joined at midcourt by current Eastside athletic director, Brennen Kitchen.
