Girls golf leads us off, as the Lady Chargers will be one of 11 teams taking part in the Northridge Girls Golf Sectional this Friday at Meadow Valley Golf Club in Middlebury.
West Noble starts its tee times at 8:30 a.m., needing to finish among one of the top three teams, or produce one of the top three individuals not on an advancing team to advance to the East Noble Regional.

One competition in the books!
The West Noble Lightning Brigade made a memorable showing with big improvements in its performance at the Goshen Crimson Invite over the weekend. Per assistant music director Moorea Douglas, the Brigade scored higher on Saturday in its first competition of the season than it did last year in its final showing, “Awesome growth from last year!”
For what it's worth, West Noble won Scholastic Class B at Goshen, alas the lone entrant in the category.
The Lightning Brigade will compete again Saturday at the Concord Invite, a 4 p.m. start with a head-to-head matchup against Wawasee on the line.

It was all West Noble from the opening whistle Friday night against backyard rival Central Noble.
West Noble recovered a fumble on the opening kick-off, Xy'mire Barnes-Bridges found the endzone on the next play, and the Chargers never looked back in a 63-0 win at Charger Field.
Brogan Parks had a monster night, finding the endzone four times for the Chargers, which move to 3-1 on the season and 2-0 in the NECC. Another home date next week will have Fremont coming to town.

West Noble Primary and Elementary students visited the past this morning with their trip to Stone's Trace for Pioneer Days. Bows and arrows, ironsmithing, cabin building, riflery and their best battle cries were all part of the morning of exploration as the kids toured Stone's Trace exhibits.
Special thank you to the curators and cast at Stone's Trace for hosting our students today! Pioneer Days will be open to the public this weekend, from 9-5 on Saturday and 10-4 on Sunday.

Eight was the magic number Thursday evening for both the West Noble girls and boys soccer teams, as each posted 8-0 wins over Central Noble in the doubleheader showcase at the PSM Soccer Series at Ruoff Mortgage Stadium in Fort Wayne.
In the opener, Crystal Villalobos netted a hat trick and Allison Recendiz had two goals and two assists to lead the rout. Carolina Garcia, Kiara Reyes and Mia Macias all added goals in the lopsided win.

Adjustable bases, pillows, mattresses and sheets will all be on sale from brands like Purple H, Helix, Englander, Therapedic and Theraluxe.
There is also a deal that offers free bed sheets with mattress purchases of $499 or more.

In a showdown atop the NECC standings at the regular season conference cross country meet, the West Noble girls landed all five of its scorers in the top 12 to outpace Fairfield, 27-30, to claim the team title.
Layna Stoltzfus of Fairfield was the overall winner (20:01), but the Lady Chargers placed four within the top 10 and its fifth scorer at 12 to slip past the Falcons. Sara Aguilar led the champs with a fifth-place time of 20:44.
West Noble's boys were led by a third-place run from Graysen Ruch (17:28), and placed third as a team. Angola reigned as team champs, and a monster individual effort from Lakeland's Memphis Martin (16:23) helped keep the Lakers just ahead of the Chargers, 28-29, for second place in the standings.
The super dual format Wednesday evening is the regular season appetizer for the NECC Championships, set for Oct. 3 at Angola.

As if Fairfield coming to town wasn't enough, plan to make it to West Noble on Thursday, Sept. 24, as the volleyball team is not only taking on the rival Falcons, but hosting its annual fundraiser.
The night will be in memory of Jana Beers Miller, who lost her battle with cancer earlier this year. Miller was a West Noble graduate and member of the 1985 sectional champion volleyball team. Miller was a supporter of West Noble and the community. The team will be remembering Miller’s contributions to the community by raising funds to be donated to the Community Foundation of Noble County in her memory.
The evening fundraiser will include a silent auction, bake sale, and 50/50 raffle.
Come for the fundraiser, stay for the volleyball!

Ahead of this weekend's Ligonier Marshmallow Festival, Mrs. Kimmel's 6th period cooking class took the challenge on of making their own marshmallows! These marshmallows will find purpose this upcoming annual festival that the Ligonier community is all looking forward to!
Not sure who else is approaching a milestone at this point, but we celebrated another one within the West Noble volleyball program Tuesday night.
Junior Ella Limerick has reached 1,000 assists for her career and was celebrated at home in the first set against Tippecanoe Valley, part of a 3-0 Charger win in a rematch from last year's sectionals. Less than a week ago, classmate Elyse Mead reached 1,000 kills for her career, the two certainly a big part of each other's statistical success.
Congrats Ella on your milestone achievement!

Attention West Noble School Corporation families: US Highway 33 is now open as is the main entrance to the West Noble Campus. Parent pickup, bus routes, and dismissal times should all be normal and without delay. Thank you for your understanding today as our local EMS, State Police, Sheriff Department, Ligonier Police and Fire Departments, and our own School Resource Officers worked in the rain all day to take care of a very serious accident so we could continue learning and growing.

Attention West Noble School Corporation families:
There has been a terrible accident right in front of the WN main campus. No staff or students were involved. I am told it will be several hours before the main entrance to the school is open. Please avoid this area if at all possible. If you have business on the main campus, or need to pick up a child for an appointment, you will need to come to the school on Rochester Road and Charger Avenue. US 33 between the light and Charger Avenue will be closed for most of the school day. All dismissals from school today will run on time, although bus drops may be a few minutes later than normal because of rerouting. I will let you know if anything changes.

The West Noble tradition continued to start the weekend as the National Honor Society held its annual Tapping Ceremony Friday afternoon. The entire student body was on hand in the cafeteria as NHS' senior members tapped the new juniors that will become the next wave of students to carry the honor at West Noble. Led by sponsor Charles Grady, the NHS tabbed 19 new members in the latest installment of the club.
