Having absolutely no idea of what to expect, and really, nothing to lose, Xavier Viera traveled to Orlando, Florida, earlier this month to take part in the BPA Nationals. A very quiet kid nearly made a lot of noise in his series' of competitions. Find out how he did, and the confidence it brought to our WNHS senior here: https://www.westnoble.k12.in.us/article/2221724

More celebrating as we wind down the school year! West Noble Middle School students who passed their WIDA testing were rewarded with an ice cream sundae party, acknowledging a bigger goal. Each student had a goal set in one of the language domains of reading, writing, speaking, or listening. The goal is to improve by 0.5 or more in that specified domain, and we had 84 students meet their goal this year! The ice cream party, cool, but bigger cheers for so many of our kids reaching and exceeding their goals in the testing circuit.

West Noble High School had a quintet of students honored in a unique way earlier this week. Wednesday afternoon, five of our high school students were honored with a signing ceremony at Impact. The ceremony was held to recognize each student's aspirations to continue their education in a post-secondary institution or go directly into the workforce in their area of study. Among the more than a dozen students in all that were honored, West Noble would like to congratulate five of our own: Halle Barrientos, Jacob Carbaugh, Tabitha Soria, Nicholas Stoops and Carlos Velez, Jr.

We brought you the shenanigans from West Noble Primary's Field Day for the kindergarten a couple days ago. Pure chaos. Nothing changed for the first graders Friday afternoon as they took to the high school soccer fields for games, popsicles and organized chaos. Always great to see our kids having a blast and enjoying each other's company, and our staff being able to blow off a little steam, as well!

It's been a long and fruitful year, perhaps, for the West Noble Middle School Jr. Master Gardener Club. A total of 15 middle school green thumbs completed the club season and were recognized Thursday at the year-end awards program. Since last September, the students worked through eight chapters and 44 concepts of gardening and horticulture. One of the highlights of their year was getting the hydroponics grow tower to finally take and produce, and it produced in droves from herbs to leafy greens. A huge thank you to Mrs. Anderson for seeing the kids through on a wonderful club that teaches life lessons in so many ways!

As we noted earlier in the day with the video, West Noble's FFA hosted Ag Day. Our Little Chargers from West Noble Primary were on hand for an up-close-and-personal experience with farm animals, equipment, and how farming fits into our daily lives. From the looks on the kid's faces, we think they had a great time both teaching and learning today!

Casey Kasem would approve of Tuesday night's 'Music Through The Decades' program at West Noble Elementary. From Bill Haley to the Beatles to Hilary Duff to Dua Lipa, the fourth graders performed through the generations in a kaleidoscope of song styles and movements. Music teacher Mrs. Hostetler directed the eight-song performance in front of a standing room only audience. The crowd also had the opportunity to take in the art gallery led by teacher Mrs, Bieberich, the hallways lined with works representing Georgia O'Keefe to clay baby dragons.

Tonight is West Noble's Prom! The kids likely are all headed to Kendallville if not there already. A host of couples made a stop at West Noble High School this afternoon to take part in the Grand March to open Prom activities. Have a great night tonight, and be safe wherever you are! We have a Google Drive open with pics from the Grand March for those who would like a photo of your favorite couple or person. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1zmbV5flnIrjQqxV6C0vfWGIBLE0FuG4B?usp=drive_link

Finally, second graders from West Noble Elementary took to the streets of Ligonier for their Community Walk. Making stops in and around locations in town, it was hands-on at its finest as the kids could see and learn directly from the businesses and people who run them. The WNE classes will also be out and about again tomorrow morning.

While not outdoors, Turning Point students were looking outside their comfort zones Thursday. During Family Time, students who don't use cursive as a normal form of writing learned to incorporate the style into signatures, as well as writing letters to their future selves (to open one year from now). Those letters included goals, and others wrote out Mother's Day cards.
