Congratulations to West Noble seniors Isai Lopez and Angel Calvo on their acceptance into the IU Groups Program. They both will have the opportunity to attend Indiana University next year thanks to their academic achievements, the IU Groups Program, and a little help from some others.
A little over a year ago 2017 West Noble graduate and current IU student Araceli Flores had contacted her former High School Guidance Counselor, Mrs. Tippmann, and suggested the IU Groups Program. After some careful research, Mrs. Tippmann was confident that IU Groups would be a great fit for some of our students. The program has numerous benefits including tuition scholarships, free summer classes, and extra advising/tutoring support.
Mrs. Tippmann and fellow Guidance Counselor Mr. Engler attended the Groups Recommender’s Conference last September (a requirement for nominating students for IU Groups) and are now able to recommend seniors that are first-generation college students and/or have financial need. Both Calvo and Lopez are on track to be Academic Honors Graduates at West Noble this year. Angel is considering studying business or engineering in college, while Isai is interested in the science or medical field.
