Nurses Plan for Students Safe Return to School

School Nurse

The WN nurses have been busy planning for the safe return of students to school.  We need parents and students to know the following before the first day of school:

  1. If your student has a condition that causes chronic symptoms similar to COVID-19 (congestion, runny nose, cough, difficulty breathing, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, or headache), the nurses will need documentation from your healthcare provider with the alternate diagnosis and expected symptoms.  This documentation will help reduce unnecessary exclusion from school.
  2. Before leaving for school each day, please complete the COVID-19 screener with your child.  If you answer "yes" to any questions, please do not send your child to school and call the school to inform them of the absence.
  3. Nebulizers for the administration of breathing treatments will no longer be allowed in the school buildings.  If your child uses albuterol by a nebulizer, please request a prescription for an albuterol inhaler from your healthcare provider before the start of school.
